On Sunday, October 18, 2009, the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department, Rescue Squad and Auxilliary brought back its historical department Oyster Scald of the 1960s along with a stuffed ham and fried oyster dinner. It was a great success! The members with the help of Kilinski's Catering, pulled together for two days to prepare and serve. We served up the traditional Southern Maryland stuffed ham and fried oysters and we also had scalded oysters. Please join us next year for an even better time. Thank you for all who came out to show their support.
